We are thrilled to announce you can watch the Rolex grand prix at Spruce Meadows LIVE on Horse & Country.

Biggest names

The Spruce Meadows Masters CSIO5* in Calgary, Canada is one of the most prestigious showjumping competitions in the world.

The five-day tournament attracts the biggest names in sport, who are hoping for a slice of the huge CAN$4.1m prize money. The main event is the Rolex grand prix on Sunday September 9, which we are broadcasting live on Horse & Country.

Rolex Grand Slam

The competition has an incredible prize pot of CAN$3m, plus there is the chance to compete for the Rolex Grand Slam for a further €1million bonus. This goes to any rider that can consecutively win three grands prix at Aachen, Spruce Meadows, CHI Geneva and the Dutch Masters.

Marcus Ehning is the current contender after winning the Rolex grand prix in Aachen in July. Also hoping to take the title in Canada is fellow German Philipp Weishaupt, who won the grand prix last year (see video above).

Brash is best

They will be up against the best riders from all around the world. Britain’s Scott Brash (pictured on Hello Sanctos) has an impressive record at the Spruce Meadows Masters, having won the grand prix in both 2015 and 2016. Scott is on great form following his recent win in the Longines Global Champions Tour grand prix of London.

Other riders confirmed include Maikel van der Vleuten, Abdel Said, Luciana Diniz, Lorenzo de Luca and Eric Lamaze, who won the event on home turf in 2007 and 2011.

The Rolex grand prix at Spruce Meadows will be broadcast LIVE on Sunday September 9 at 7pm local time. You can also watch the show ‘as live’ on Wednesday September 12 at 9pm EST by subscribing to Horse & Country now!
