In Horse & Country’s new series Barn Talk we get to meet Georgina and find out how she juggles competing at the top level with being a single mother of one to her son Jasper.

Olympic long-list

Georgina is the daughter of former New York City mayor and media mogul Michael Bloomberg, but it is sheer hard work and determination that has taken her to the top of the showjumping ladder.

The 35-year-old jumper has won over 50 grand prix titles, competed in 10 Nations Cup teams for the United States and, in 2008, she was long-listed for the Olympic Games.

In Horse & Country’s new series Barn Talk we meet Georgina, she shows us round her stunning purpose-built facility in upstate New York, and we find out how she juggles a jam-packed competition schedule with being a mom.

Rescue animals

Georgina talks also about her charity, The Rider’s Closet, which aims to make — often expensive — riding clothes and kit more accessible to therapeutic riding programs, pony clubs, college teams and under-privileged riders.

We also meet her wide array of rescue animals, which include an opinionated goat called Petey, a pig named Wilbur, a retired New York City carriage horse and a lot of dogs!

Barn Talk is the US version of H&C’s popular series Yard Talk, which features top riders such as Tina Cook, Sophie Wells, Alex Hua Tian, Laura Collett and Sam Griffiths.

H&C Barn Talk: Georgina Bloomberg premieres on Tuesday July 10 at 7.30pm EST on H&C, and is then available for subscribers to watch on-demand online at Horse & Country TV.

Georgina’s Barn Talk episode is followed immediately by her exclusive H&C Masterclass.
